GiveThemASong (“we,” “us,” or “our”) creates custom, AI-generated songs as personalized gifts. This policy explains what information we collect when you use givethemasong.com, why we collect it, and how it’s handled. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

When you place an order, we collect:

• Your details: your name and email address.
• Recipient details (optional):the recipient’s email address, if you choose to have the song sent to them directly.
• Song details:the occasion, genre, mood, and tempo you select, and anything you write about the recipient — their name, your relationship to them, their personality, shared memories, inside jokes, and anything you’d like us to avoid. This is used solely to write the lyrics and direct the music for your song.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate the lyrical and musical direction for your custom song.
• To process your payment and confirm your order.
• To email you (and the recipient, if provided) order confirmations and the finished song.
• To respond if you contact us with a question or issue.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing you didn’t sign up for.

Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on a small number of trusted services to run GiveThemASong. Each only receives the information it needs to do its job:

• Stripe — processes payments. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
• Supabase— securely stores your order information.
• Anthropic (Claude)— an AI model that turns the details you share into a structured songwriting prompt.
• Resend— sends your confirmation and delivery emails.

Data Retention

We keep order information for as long as needed to deliver your song, respond to any follow-up questions, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you’d like your information deleted sooner, contact us and we’ll take care of it, except where we’re required to retain records (for example, for tax purposes).

Cookies

This site does not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this policy.

Children’s Privacy

GiveThemASong is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time what information we have about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
